ROLE SUMMARY

Our biotech client on the East Coast of the US is requiring a Sr Capital Project Manager to lead the strategic execution of the site’s exciting $400M greenfield capital investment in a timely & financially astute manner. This is a contract position that is initially approved for 12 months with high likelihood of extension.

Tasks include:

• Develop objectives, long-range plans, budgets, schedules, and standards for execution by the site Project Engineering Team.

• Assure projects are completed within approved scope, budget and schedule.

• Establish and maintain efficient execution of all capital projects at the site (including design, construction, and contract administration).

• Provide planning, scheduling and estimating resources required for upcoming projects being implemented (including those being conceptualised or proposed).

• Ensure that projects are designed and constructed in accordance with current regulations governing safety, environmental protection, energy conservation and quality.

• Lead project engineering & instil a ‘best-in-class’ approach to project execution.

• Interact with site leadership and site areas to establish and define project requirements and the site capital plan.  This entails all areas including asset risk assessments, mitigation and replacement strategies, and project roll-up plans prioritised across the site to address all risk areas.

• Ensure frequent and regular communication between site leadership, project teams, customer groups, and other stakeholders.

• Ensure that all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements are met on the capital project throughout Construction & CQV.

• Interfaces with Global Engineering to ensure project compliance with the client’s standards and follow industry best practices.

• Ensure team contains subject matter experts in the facilities, processes, equipment, construction and other critical areas.  Ensure subject matter expertise is available to support all areas of the plant including drug products, active pharmaceutical ingredients, environmental and quality compliance, and all other areas of the plant.

• Maintain skills of direct reports in project management as relates to capital projects.

• Drive process improvements to ensure engineering processes continually become more efficient and effective.
